Now that school has started and we are heading into fall, here is what is happening in the Kent County, Grand Rapids Housing Market!
At the time of this video in Kent County, we have 610 active homes and 187 homes pending. In August we saw the highest number this year of houses actively for sale each week.
In August 884 single-family homes were sold. That is down about 6.5% from last year. The average price of a home in Kent County in August was $326,000 which is up 22% from last year when it was $267,000.
The months of supply in Kent County for August was at .8 months. A year ago it was double that at 1.6 months. That means if no new houses came on the market, we would only have about 3 weeks of inventory.
So, to recap the statistics we just threw at you, we have more active homes on the market now than earlier this year, but we still have fewer houses available to buy than we did last year. So basically the price of homes has gone up because there is less inventory available!
